He is the author of Self-knowledge in Plato's Phaedrus, Adam Smith and the Virtues of Enlightenment and Forgiveness: A Philosophical Exploration, editor of Platonic Writings/Platonic Readings, and co-editor (with David Konstan) of Ancient Forgiveness: Classical, Judaic, and Christian.
