Clarke played John "Red" Hamilton in the 2009 Michael Mann film Public Enemies. In April 2010 Clarke was cast in the thriller film Texas Killing Fields which is directed by Amy Canaan Mann. He also joined the cast of John Hillcoat's The Wettest County in the World.
