Laying down a phenomenological spiral to arrive at joy through the experiences of pain, openness and otherness. Some of these experiences can only be acquired by living in wild ecosystems and confronting wild plants and animals. Other experiences are shaped by wild encounters in modern industrial civilization.

Autorenporträt
Alain M. Caratheodory worked as an observer, then research associate in astrophysics for a number of installations, including the MIT Cambridge Research Laboratory, Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, and the University of Arizona's Steward Observatory. Finding that his experience followed Auden's prescription for poets, he has written in poetic, as well as scientific, forms. He has been published in numerous regional journals; since 1984, he has worked only on book-length themes. He confesses that he continues to work hard, to keep to the dictates of Wordsworth and Novalis, to be a good poet. Verona ReBow earned a degree in graphic design. At twenty-one, working as a graphic designer, she enrolled at the Academy of Art in Munich, Germany, from which she earned a degree in fine arts. About her art, she says: "I grew up surrounded by the romantic and mystic air of a river valley, with deep forests and green pastures. The comfort provided by nature opened doors to my imagination. These early experiences of the fullness of life wove the magic carpet, which has ever since helped me travel between different worlds. The essence of these inner journeys found form when I learned to paint, and ever since, painting has been my ally and career. The inherent beauty of objects and the profound potential of existence move me to create and communicate with and through the colors and lines, where the worlds of abstraction and realism are one."
