The book targets a broad readership for young researchers(Postgraduate students) in the area of Quantum Chemistry and molecular modeling as it contains a wide and comprehensive coverage of all important aspects of the subject including up-to- date survey of recent revolutionary advances. Pyrazolo[3,4-d] pyrimidines posses various pharmaceutical activities. The optimized structures and the electronic properties of these molecules using quantum mechanical methods have also been discussed and results have been compared with crystallographic data, which could enable one to understand and evaluate different quantum mechanical methods. It should be a valuable asset to established researchers in this area due to very detailed explanation of the behavior of aromatic pi-pi interactions on the basis of experimental and theoretical results. On the basis of these calculations,it has been proven that these compounds have more potential than indomethacin for the inhibition of anti-coagulation and inflammation activities of vPLA2. These compounds can be co-crystallized with PLA2 and the in vitro binding mode and energy could be studied.
