Mike McQuaide is a freelance writer and former outdoor and features writer for the Bellingham Herald. McQuaide, a graduate of Bellingham¿s Western Washington University, has lived in Bellingham for twenty years. He¿s run and bicycled in Ski to Sea, the areäs biggest event; climbed Mount Baker and Mount Shuksan, the areäs tallest mountains; and acted and played music on many of the areäs stages. McQuaide is also the author of Falcon's AFalconGuide® to Mount Baker-Mount Shuksan. McQuaide lives in Bellingham's Columbia neighborhood with his wife Jennifer, and son, Baker, named for the 10,781-foot volcano just east of Bellingham.
