This review throws knowledge on the basic aspects of insect pheromone technology, especially in case of control of helicoverpa armigera.the review includes the pheromone components of helicoverpa armigera, their composition, comparison of traditional control methods and pheromone technology. helicoverpa being a polyphagus insect of various crops is very noxious one as it has developed resistance to various insecticides and even to biological cotrol. These findings basically support the pheromone technology to popularize among farmers in India and abroad.

Dr. Kalpna Varshney is presently designated as assistant Professor in Manav Rachna International University,India.Before joining active Academics she was in Designer Food Product Research She has done tremendous work in the Field of Insect Pheromone Technology during her Ph.D. Work and developed inhouse Pheromone traps for control of insects.
