It also can be used as thesaurus, foreign language dictionary and also, to some extent, pictorial dictionary. Volume 11: Index Universalis Multilingualis serves mainly as a multilingual index of the technical terms used in all ten volumes, spanning every subject and genre. In all, the Index Universalis Multilingualis contains 26,531 technical terms, of which 12,089 are German, 6,560 French, 6,560 English and 1,322 Latin. Die GA-Reihe erschien in 10 Bänden zwischen 1985 und 2002. Die Register der Einzelbände enthalten neben dem deutschen Hauptalphabet die Begriffe in französisch, englisch und lateinisch.

Der nun vorliegende Band 11 in 2 Teilbänden "Index Universalis Multilingualis" erschließt die Fachbegriffe der 10 Bände des Glossarium Artis themen- und genreübergreifend. Insgesamt enthält der Index Universalis 35.194 Fachwörter, davon 11.928 deutsche, 10.971 französische, 10.976 englische und 1.319 lateinische. Alle Begriffe aus diesen vier Sprachen sind in einem Alphabet sortiert.
