Teaching of language and literature has always been difficult for teachers of English. In this action research I have tried to improve my teaching strategies to enhance students creative writing by using short stories from literature as prompts. The study was conducted in a private school in Karachi, Pakistan with grade seven students. The data interestingly revealed that both Language and literature can be used to enhance teaching learning process in less time as compared to teaching as separate genre. This method not only motivated students to write creatively but also think out of the box. This book also shortly discusses the role of gender on creative writing of students as the research was carried out with male students. Some implications are also discussed based on the researcher s findings and key learning. This book presents the link between teaching of language and Literature effectively and in less time.
