This action research was a democratic (participatory) study that was conducted in the Physics Department of Kyambogo University (KYU). Kyambogo University became a university in 2003 by the Act of Tertiary Institutions and as a result of the merger of the former Institute of Teacher Education Kyambogo (ITEK), Uganda Polytechnic Kyambogo (UPK), and Uganda National Institute of Special needs (UNISE). The study was aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of the lecturers in the department to ensure the quick release of the course works and test results of the learners of the Ordinary Diploma in Science- Technology, Physics (ODST/P) programme, to make them more productive in the workplace. The Ordinary Diploma in Science Technology program being offered in the Physics Department of Kyambogo University is one of the VET programs which trains and produces students who can work in the science laboratories of educational institutions, research institutions, and industries.
