From the last few decades, scientists and electrical engineers have focused on distribution systems which are near to the load points. The traditional loss reduction methods had little impact on the distribution systems and voltage profile improvement. The research work in the book is an attempt to explore new algorithms for optimized operation and control of radial distribution systems. The proposed algorithms for load flow analysis of distribution systems with and without distributed generators, placement of optimum size of capacitor and DG at optimum location will help the power utilities to reduce the losses and improvement in the voltage profile. A new hybrid technique is also proposed to analyze the contingency and enhance the reliability of the RDS. The research work in this book focuses on realistic problems and solutions of radial distribution networks.
