This study investigates the effects of leadership styles on employee performance at some selected Non-Governmental Organizations in Gombe State. Three objectives were formulated to guide the Study. The study discussed the concept of leadership, leadership style and employee performance. Many literatures were reviewed from which the research gaps were identified. A survey research design was used where data was sourced via 112 questionnaire using five points likert scale and was administered to the respondents. The analysis of the participants' responses was done using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) which generated the response rates, variances, standard errors, R-square statistics, correlations, analyses of variance, t-statistics, et cetera of the responses. The study finds out that autocratic and laissez faire leadership style has no significance effect on employee performance in non-governmental organization in Gombe state while democratic leadership style has significance effect on employee performance in non-governmental organization in Gombe state.
