The main contents of this work cover the impact
analysis of Qingdao 2008 Olympic sailing events.
Except for the first part which is the brief
introduction of this work, it started with the
general analysis of the influences to the host
cities from hosting Olympic Games or Olympic sailing
events. The different Olympic Games operation modes
and different characteristics of the impact Olympic
Games generated to the host city are presented in
this work with examples and data. Since the emphasis
is the Olympic impact which Qingdao is facing, most
of the parts of this work are about the forecast and
analysis of Qingdao s Olympic related city
development. The main study areas are centralized
into the investment analysis, the overall influences
to Qingdao city s development and the potential
impact on Qingdao tourism industry. Several projects
which have vivid characteristics are discussed in
this work such as the promotion of the new city
image Sailing City of Qingdao, the post-games
development of cruise mother port construction and
the popularization of sailing sports in Qingdao.
