This book is a practical text covering the imaging techniques and the range of urodynamic problems the trainee and practising urologist is likely to encounter including; congenital abnormalities of the bladder, functional abnormalities of the bladder, intraluminal abnormalities and staging of bladder cancer. The urethra and lower urinary tract are also dealt with. Although these disorders are covered in the major reference works, there is a need for a practical, accessible, user friendly text which provides clear and unambiguous guidelines on the best practice available.

Produktbeschreibung
This book is a practical text covering the imaging techniques and the range of urodynamic problems the trainee and practising urologist is likely to encounter including; congenital abnormalities of the bladder, functional abnormalities of the bladder, intraluminal abnormalities and staging of bladder cancer. The urethra and lower urinary tract are also dealt with. Although these disorders are covered in the major reference works, there is a need for a practical, accessible, user friendly text which provides clear and unambiguous guidelines on the best practice available.
Lower urinary tract symptoms may be the result of a structural or functional abn- mality. To consider either in isolation would be an incomplete assessment, but c- bined anatomical and functional imaging provides a more powerful and complete tool for investigation of lower urinary tract malfunction. Yet many of the currently available radiological texts concerning lower urinary tract imaging fail to discuss these two aspects in a holistic manner. We hope that this book will fll this gap. Although it is written to be as comprehensive as possible such that it covers the vast majority of lower urinary tract disorders that will be encountered in adult urological practice, it is not meant to replace conventional textbooks of uroradiology. Rather, it is meant to be practical and user friendly. It is intended for everyday clinical use; it should allow the trainee and trained radiologist or urologist to plan a logical, yet complete radiological and dynamic investigation of the lower urinary tract. It should also be useful for nurse practitioners, medical students, and all other medical staff who commonly manage lower urinary tract disorders.

Rezensionen
From the reviews of the second edition:

"This is a practical, concise review of normal anatomy and of anatomic and functional abnormalities of the lower urinary tract. ... The audience includes any medical practitioner who manages patients with lower urinary tract disorders. The book is comprehensive and clearly written, making it an excellent everyday reference for urology and radiology residents, nurse practitioners, and practicing radiologists and urologists. ... Each chapter contains many figures, tables, and diagrams. ... This is a welcome addition to the urologic and radiologic literature." (Patrick J. Shenot, Doody's Review Service, June, 2010)

"This is the second edition of this softcover book. It is a very practical book authored and edited by a uro-radiologist. ... There are 14 chapters covering various radiological aspects of the lower urinary tract. ... it will however be useful for those who would like a general overview. The main features of the book are the numerous tables and pictures with radiological interpretation. The book would serve as an excellent reference for trainee urologists, radiologists and healthcare professionals ... ." (ICS News, Vol. 7 (1), January, 2011)
