Joe Ottinger is a technology entrepreneur, management consultant, author, and thought leader in the areas of leadership, entrepreneurship, and innovation. He is the Founder of the Iinnovate Leadership Network, a leadership network and advisory firm for the innovation economy. Iinnovate provides executive advisory and consulting services for companies seeking to innovate, scale and renew their companies in a rapidly changing, tech-enabled environment. Prior to founding Iinnovate, Joe co-founded Kotter International, a management consulting firm specializing in leading change, innovation, and renewal, with Harvard Business School professor, John Kotter. Prior to Kotter International, Ottinger had an 18-year technology career working for top technology companies including IBM, McCaw Cellular (Captaris), and as President and EVP of AVT, a public technology company in the Seattle area. Joe is the author of Iinnovate- a guide for engaging in the innovation economy, and Beyond Success: Building a Personal, Financial and Philanthropic Legacy (McGraw Hill, 2008). He also helped research the book, XLR8, with Harvard Professor John Kotter (Harvard Business Press, 2014). In addition, Joe has written and published numerous papers and articles, which have appeared in Forbes, Chief Executive Magazine, The Financial Times, Worth Magazine, Stanford Center for Social Innovation, and The Journal of Practical Estate Planning. Joe is passionate about improving lives through innovation and entrepreneurship. He has published studies that deepen our understanding of innovation and its impact on companies, communities, and lives. He is also involved in business and civic organizations including YPO, Social Venture Partners, and on the board of the Seattle Philanthropic Advisor Network. Ottinger has an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a B.A. from Cornell University where as an alumnus he has served on Cornell University's Advisory Council.
