Born in the 1940s, Edward Bray grew up in Horsham, Pennsylvania. As a teenager, he participated in numerous sports and discovered his lifelong passion of long-distance running (up to and including 100-mile races). Until becoming a postal worker in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, he had a variety of careers. For example, he worked on the Polaris proto-type at Raytheon. He also worked for Douglas McDonald Aircraft, taught science for a year, and served in the U.S. Army. His hobbies include carpentry, gardening, fishing, and completing puzzles.
