Self-Reflection is related to a philosophy of consciousness. It allows us to view the events in our lives from different perspectives. Self-Reflection is related to a philosophy of consciousness. It allows us to view the events in our lives from different perspectives. The individual has the opportunity to take a look at any given situation from a more holistic, loving place without self-blame or fear. This book is a sequel to my first novel, Beyond the Chaos: Into the Light. Where I explore different facets of abusive behavior, it is thoughtful and empowering. The purpose of the book is to allow the reader to explore random posts during a 30-day period that address internal issues that go undetected in women who have experienced abuse. After each thoughtful post, you will find exercises that challenge you upon self-reflection to rewrite that part of your story positively through empowerment and grace. The posts come from bits and pieces of my life's journey. This book is invaluable for those who have been abused in search of words of encouragement, motivation, and support as they evolve on their spiritual journey.
Autorenporträt
My journey of abuse continued for over 20+ years. Since, that time, my purpose as an advocate for abuse against women brings forth the destiny granted by God. "I speak up and out to whoever will listen wherever I go," Shell B. At this time, in my life I am retired; a mentor, advocate, and survivor of abuse, life coach, author, and freelance writer with a passion for helping women see there is another way to live outside of abusive environments. Once the option to live another way, presented itself, there was no turning back. I wanted to do more, needed to do more in spreading the 'good news'. Deep within my soul, a passion brewed to share any information I had gathered over the years, to help just one person escape the horrors of an abusive relationship. The good and not so good stuff! An abrupt event in my life five years ago gave me a tremendous amount of free time. So, I decided to do me! (as the young folk say) I went back to school and graduated with a bachelor's in psychology and human services as well as a master's in forensic psychology. YES! And you can do that as well.... During this time, a plethora of information was introduced. I explored different types of abusive behavior against women and gained an extensive amount of knowledge about the external factors of abuse. However minimal methodologies had been developed concerning the internal factors of the phenomena; which shed light on why cases of re-victimization were skyrocketing out of control. Throughout my experience, I learned that we do not heal from traumatic experiences we simply endure and evolve day by day. However, we can learn to rewrite our stories, putting the traumatic experiences in their proper place, so they stop taking up so much space in our life's journey. This revelation led me to write this book as a spin-off from my novel: Beyond the Chaos Into the Light. I want to share the good news... we can't let the past cripple us and set us up to fall back into the trenches of abusive behavior. I feel this is another way of giving back what was so graciously given to me by my spiritual sisters. I realize this is my calling, my passion, sharing the bits and pieces of not only how I handle negative energy but now I'm learning more and more about myself through the process. My prayer is that my experiences, shared throughout this book and beyond provides encouragement, and my dedication to reaching the hearts of those women who do not know there is a way out is attained!
