This is the first time the extracts of various polarities of both medicinal plants namely Adenia lobata and Morinda lucida have been found to have hypoglycaemic activities.Various Antioxidant assays of both extracts were also confirmed.Again, valerolactone was for the first time isolated from Adenia lobata and showed promising hypoglycaemic effect.Other modifications can be applied to this compound which can yield antidiabetic product after its safety and efficacy have been duly assessed.
