Urine hygienised by storage is effective in eliminating microbial germs, particularly schistosomes, and inactivating their eggs. It is a credible alternative for combating bilharziasis. The EcoSan approach offers the prospect of eradicating both forms of bilharziasis (urogenital and intestinal) by covering all localities with a complete ecological sanitation system and selling hygienised excreta as fertiliser to farmers. Dr. Koné Kinanpara wurde am 21. Februar 1973 in Bouaké in Côte d'Ivoire geboren. Er ist internationaler Senior-Ingenieur für Sanitärtechnik und Doktor der Umweltwissenschaften. Von 2005 bis 2018 war er Projektaufseher bei der Wasser- und Sanitärbehörde für Afrika (EAA). Seit 2019 ist er Dozent - Forscher an der Universität von Daloa.
