Many have said that the American dream is dead, and perhaps, just perhaps, this pessimistic view is right. After all, gone are the days when everyone knew that all they had to do to achieve their dreams and goals was work hard. It's now an accepted fact that most working Americans today are worse off than their parents and grandparents ever were. Unfortunately, this state of affairs is likely to get even worse as the economy continues to offer fewer and fewer opportunities. However, in life, what matters the most is not the challenges we face. What does is how we choose to react to these challenges. Just because the American dream is dying a slow death for most people doesn't mean that it has to die for you too. There is a lot of concern expressed over the luxurious life that the 1% continue to lead while the middle-class gets wiped out. You can be one of the people who get wiped out, or you can choose to create a reality where you don't have to worry about credit card debt, stifling mortgages, or the rising costs of living. Building wealth is all about knowledge, and this book is full of all the knowledge you will ever need to kick start your journey to financial prosperity. This book will teach how to identify great stocks, where to find great real estate deals, how to mitigate risk by diversifying in bonds, and how to create a budget so you can start saving, investing, and growing your money. This journey will lead you not just towards economic prosperity but, more importantly, towards freedom, which is more important than money, something many people realize far too late in life. If you are ready to learn how to be free in ways you never imagined possible, let's get started:
Autorenporträt
Dr. Kevin R. West is an experienced, well-respected, results-oriented, retired Superintendent of Schools in New Jersey. Kevin recently retired after serving 37 years as an educator, climbing the ranks from a substitute teacher to a teacher, then to assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent, and finally superintendent of schools. Although extremely passionate about education and ensuring that his students received top-notch, quality education, Kevin decided to retire on June 30, 2020, during the pandemic to pursue his second passion of financial planning, investing, building generational wealth, and teaching others how to save, invest and grow money. Kevin was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey. For the first nine years of his life, Kevin experienced living a financially modest lifestyle in a household headed by his father and mother, along with his older and younger brothers. Soon after Kevin's ninth birthday, this modest lifestyle came to a screeching halt when his parents both decided to separate and end their toxic marriage. Consequently, Kevin and his two brothers moved out of the family home with their mother into a small two-bedroom apartment on the other side of town. Although Kevin's mother attempted to do everything in her power to keep a roof over their heads, clothes on their backs, and food on their table, the pressure, stress, and limited finances were a bit too much for his mother to bare as a single mom trying to raise three rambunctious boys. Kevin's mother continued to work hard, but in order to survive and make ends meet, she was forced to seek and receive public assistance (welfare) to help take care of him and his two brothers. This was an extremely demoralizing, traumatizing, and difficult time for Kevin, his mother, and his two siblings as they fell victim to living in poverty for the first time in their lives. However, by the grace of God, prayers, determination, faith, hope, and love, they were able to stick together and persevere through the numerous challenges, obstacles, and temptations associated with tough inner-city impoverished living until Kevin graduated high school and went on to college. Growing up dirt poor and not knowing where his next meal would come from, wondering when and if the heat and hot water would be turned back on, worrying if he and his family were going to be evicted when the rent couldn't be paid, embarrassed going to school in old clothes and shoes, and watching just about everyone around him in survival mode struggling financially, sparked Kevin's interest in generational wealth building, and motivated him to graduate from high school, college, attain two Master's Degrees, and obtain his Doctoral Degree so that he could make a positive impact on the lives in his community and become financially secure and ensure that he, his family and anyone he could mentor would never ever live in poverty again. So, during this pandemic, Dr. Kevin West took time out to reflect and share some important tips on How To Save, Invest and Grow Money! Hopefully, these tips will help you too go from rags to riches.
