Catherine Castoro is an author and illustrator/oil painter. Catie Cat is the pen name for her children's book brand. How to Keep Monsters Out of Your Room is her third children's book. She has worked as a writer, designer, and illustrator/fine artist in advertising and marketing. My Friend Flutter, her first children's book, was released in September 2022. Her second book, Flutter's Birthday was released in March 2023. She has a BS Advertising and a BA in Psychology from the University of Texas, and was a Research Assistant in the Children's Research Lab while attending the University. Catie has a Certificate of Completion in Advanced Creative Writing from the Department for Continuing Education, University of Oxford, England. She has won several awards including: First Page Contest Finalist in writing, and Juror's Choice Award, Distinguished Award, and Best of Show in art and design. She has two grown children and lives with her husband in Austin, Texas. Prior Adult non-fiction Publication: THE FERRY TO DUBLIN, January 2018 edition of The Ocotillo Review.
