Produktbeschreibung
Present experimental work on homogeneous supercritical fuel spray injection and combustion is comprised of two sections. In the first section, conventional diesel spray injection using hot surface ignition approach is carried out. In the second section, supercritical fuel spray injection and combustion is explored and results compared with conventional diesel spray injection and combustion. Both type of injection systems are studied in constant volume combustion chamber under same diesel engine-like operating conditions. Various sensors like needle lift sensor, photo sensor and piezoresistive pressure sensor are employed to measure injection, ignition, combustion and soot formation characteristics such as, duration of fuel injection, ignition delay, duration of combustion, rate of heat release, peak pressure and soot formation with the help of four channel scopemeter. The study reveals that 'supercritical fuel spray injection system' leads to a faster and cleaner combustion for future high speed direct-injection engines. Present work will be helpful in the development of supercritical fuel injection and combustion technology for next generation automotive engines.
