D. L. Hawkes is a lifelong and devoted Christian who received her formation within a wonderful and prayerful family. She was educated in a religious school system and continued her journey in the faith by becoming a teacher and school principal in that system. She holds a BA in Psychology and Sociology, a Master of Education, and an Ontario Specialist Certificate in Religious Education. She has recently published a faith-based novel entitled Descent Into Hell, with an accompanying teacher's guide, which is seeing success with adult readers and high school students in Ontario.
