The article proposed in this modest work revisits the notion of language(s) in Algeria from a diachronic perspective. Fragments of the country's history are evoked in order to follow the historical development of Berber, French and Arabic. The aim of this work is to verify whether these languages have already faced democracy in the course of their respective histories and to answer the following question: which of these three idioms is better off in expressing the values of this mode of governance?
