The advent of industrial capitalism in the country gave rise to a new social structure, formed by the bourgeoisie, the proletariat, the minority peasantry and the emergence of the middle class, which today occupies a leading role in the current historical space. This aspect motivated the development of the present research, the purpose of which is to study the political trajectory of the middle class in current history. The work was carried out under the phenomenological approach that allows the study of social reality, in particular of the middle class, starting from the elements that compose it and explaining it through the interrelationships between these elements. With this purpose, the life world of the social actors was investigated through oral testimonies, review of documents and newspaper compilation. This process brought us closer to the knowledge of the middle class from its emergence, consolidation, to the changes in its lifestyle due to the ill-advised economic policies that have plagued it to the point of placing it in extreme poverty.
