Such problems call for negotiations which require identification of common grounds for launching dialogue. Since the two communities share strong social cultural ties, the traditional conflict resolution mechanism can be used as the basis for negotiation.

Hussein Tadicha, born 1978 in Sololo, Moyale District; northern Kenya. He studied Master degree in Natural Resource management at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Norway and currently pursuing PhD at Kassel University, Germany. His research focus is on land use and resource management in pastoral systems using participatory approaches.
