Author Elizabeth Theiss Smith is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of South Dakota with a joint appointment to the Farber Center for Civic Leadership. The proceeds from this book will go to benefit the Clay County Historic Preservation Commission and the Clay County Historical Society, organizations dedicated to preserving and documenting the rich history of the county.
