The helical drilling technology using ultrashort pulsed lasers can generate higher precision in the hole geometry through the layer-by-layer ablation strategy. To enhance the performance of the helical optics with respect to drilling precision, complexity and productivity, dynamic helical drilling processes with adapted energy deposition are employed.
