A descriptive cross-sectional cohort study was conducted to identify the factors associated with uncontrolled arterial hypertension, in the health area corresponding to the Family Medical Clinic 19.58 belonging to the University Polyclinic Captain Roberto Fleítes of Santa Clara, in the period between November 2018 and July 2021.From a population of 86 patients diagnosed with uncontrolled Arterial Hypertension, a sample of 65 patients was obtained, which were selected by non-probabilistic sampling defined by inclusion and exclusion criteria. Some clinical, epidemiological and sociodemographic variables of interest were studied. Male sex, age groups 40-49 predominated, where it was of interest that approximately a quarter of the patients were 39 years old or younger, grade III of the disease with about half of the patients, white skin color and secondary schooling. Smoking was observed with more weight in the male sex, sedentary lifestyle in the female sex, excessive salt consumption was similar in both sexes.
