When Sara, a talented young archeologist, receives an assignment from the Israeli government that requires her to travel to the Holy Land, she's ecstatic. And she figures her Jewish father-who left Israel when he was only seventeen years old-will be happy for her, too. But instead of enthusiastic support, Sara's father offers only vague warnings about staying safe and not asking too many questions. When Sara arrives in Israel, the beauty of the country captivates her. She spends her days working at ancient historical sites, soaking up the culture and the history of her father's homeland. The arrival of seasonal rains means more free time for Sara, so she enlists the help of her handsome guide, Jonathan, and sets out to find the tombs of her grandparents, who died before she was born. As Sara and Jonathan search for her father's family, they uncover long-buried secrets that threaten to open old wounds. Sara must make decisions about past events that affect not only her own future but also the futures of the people she loves. A tale of deception, pain, and ultimately redemption, Hidden Treasures of the Heart will delight readers of all ages.
