Born and raised in Louisiana, Angela Melle married her high school sweetheart, and they now have two children. She was by her husband's side when he decided to pursue a career in law enforcement in 2009. In November 2021, Angela received the phone call she had feared since her husband became a police officer. He had been hurt on duty, and she needed to get to the hospital quickly. Thankfully, he was okay, but this was the first time their children realized that Daddy could get hurt at work--or worse, he could not come home. After this, Angela searched for a book that would comfort her children. When she could not find exactly what she was looking for, she wrote Heroes Get Boo-Boos Too.
