For fans of dark academia and imaginative worldbuilding seeking a fresh twist on the boarding school drama, Here, and Only Here by the million-copy bestselling author of A Winter's Promise blends the strangeness of Mexican Gothic with the secret societies of Ninth House. Welcome to the School of Here, an unsettling and peculiar place, yet a familiar one. At Here, society is highly stratified and the whole place is organized by ironclad rules and overseen by a rigid ruling class. This year things seem especially off-kilter. A self-effacing student has vanished into thin air. A persecuted outsider goes into permanent exile. A newly-minted prophetess tests her powers. And, behind the scenes, a secret cabal conducts research into an unexplained phenomenon that connects everything. With Here, and Only Here, Christelle Dabos--author of the international sensation The Mirror Visitor Quartet--gives readers an intriguing and penetrating novel that explores the difficulties of fitting in and the private, individual choices that make up the sometimes abhorrent, always unpredictable Collective.
