The Man Booker-shortlisted author of "The Butcher Boy" depicts Ray's attempts to hide from wronged local big-shot Roy Munro in the rafters of a dive bar in the heartland of Ireland, while Ray's partner faces a brutal punishment, and while nobody considers Shoney the barman's own grudges and secrets. A lyrical and funny redneck sinfonia.
