Bishnukumar Sinjali nasceu no Nepal em 1976. Obteve o doutoramento em Sociologia na Universidade Tribhuvan, Nepal. O Dr. Sinjali fala várias línguas: Inglês, nepalês, Magar Dhut (uma língua materna étnica) e hindi. É casado e tem dois filhos. Escreveu mais de meia dúzia de livros relacionados com Magars e literatura indígena.
