The Good Enough" to Release (GETR) Methodology is a process by which engineering judgment as to the acceptability and importance of disparate evidence is transformed into a system-level assessment as to the overall acceptability of a computer-based system for release to a user community. Formalizing what can be an intuitive, ad-hoc assessment brings several benefits, such as the abilities to document, reproduce, audit, and analyze an assessment. The process is also structured to provide identification and quantification of sources of uncertainty inherent in such an assessment, and information from importance and uncertainty analyses that can be used to guide information gathering efforts for future iterations of a given assessment.
