This saturation created need for these mature telecom operators to seek business opportunity outside in the Asian, African, South American and potentially other emerging markets. Specifically the markets in Asia for example Thailand, Malaysia, India etc offer business attraction along with possibilities of enormous mobile penetration inspiring large number of outside mobile operators to move into these markets in recent past, Telenor(Norwegian Telecom Operator) being one of them. The purpose of this dissertation is to describe and analyze the Global Competitive Strategy of Telenor in terms of entry modes and management of control in Asian region. Based on the lessons learned, dissertation provides recommendations and guidelines to enter into prospective untapped emerging markets.

Dr Zafar Iqbal obtained his PhD in clinical cancer genetics and post-doctoral training in functional genomics of hematological malignancies. He has published more than 100 articles and abstracts in ISI-indexed journals with international awards. He supervised many PhD and masters students and his groups has discovered some novel leukemic genes.
