Giant cell lesions are relatively uncommonly encountered in the oral cavity and invariably present difficulty in their correct diagnosis which is essential for instituting a correct line of treatment. Oral surgeons and pathologists alike are frequently at toes to predict the potential clinical behavior of giant cell lesions of the oral cavity as a result of the varied descriptions given by many investigators. In light of this, the study was undertaken to study the histopathological variations of different giant cell lesions occurring in the oral cavity, to further differentiate them from other giant cell lesions and to assess their clinical behavior with the histopathological structure, to help the clinician in instituting an appropriate and adequate line of treatment. Further, it will add to our knowledge regarding the lesions as well as the basic concepts of giant cells.
