The prerequisites that are necessary for the reading of this book do not exceed the knowledge of the fundamental notions related to differentiable manifolds, i.e., no previous knowledge of Finsler or spray geometry is required.

Rezs¿ L. Lovas studied Physics and got his PhD in Mathematics at the University of Debrecen in Hungary. He is now a senior lecturer at the Institute of Mathematics of the same University.
