The study has been carried out in cluster of 31 villages of Mandvi Taluka of Kachchh district. The entire study area is spreads over about 600 sq.km area. Physiographically the study of the Kachchh coastal areas have very fragile resource based economies, such as agricultural dominantly and livestock raring subsidiary along with some minor occupations. The economies largely depends upon quality and quantity of water resources. Therefore, the present study has designed, by keeping such emerging issues. In case of study area major emphases have given to water resources in general and groundwater in specific due to deterioration of quality due to depletion of water level and threats of salinity, and imbalance between fresh and saline groundwater in aquifer systems. All these ultimately cause shortage of quality drinking and irrigation water supplies.
