The proposed book refers to the field of biotechnology, in particular to the methods of genetic identification of fish breeds on the basis of molecular genetic markers. It is known that DNA molecular markers are characterized by different efficiency in tests for population affiliation of individuals. The proposed book refers to the field of biotechnology, in particular to the methods of genetic identification of fish breeds on the basis of molecular genetic markers. It is known that DNA molecular markers are characterized by different efficiency in tests for population affiliation of individuals. Therefore, in the laboratory of genetic processes modeling of the Institute of Genetics and Cytology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (Minsk) the technology of obtaining a genetic passport of Belarusian carp based on the results of molecular marking was developed as a scientific and methodological basis for genomic registration of the studied breeds in order to identify them, use their potential and optimize the conservation of their gene pools. The results of studies using microsatellite markers are presented for comparison. The book also presents the results of the study of genetic diversity of carp breeds on the genes of glutathione-S-transferases responsible for biodegradation of xenobiotics. The book is intended for researchers, teachers of higher educational institutions, graduate students, postgraduates, undergraduates, students and all those who are interested in the application of molecular genetic methods for passportization of living objects.
