Kristen L. Chiem, Ph.D. (2011), University of California, Los Angeles, is Associate Professor of Art History at Pepperdine University. She has published articles examining the intersections of gender, painting, and garden imagery in late imperial China. Lara C. W. Blanchard, Ph.D. (2001), University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, is Luce Professor of East Asian Art at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She has published articles on gender and Chinese art from the Song to Ming dynasties.
