Diabetic foot fungus is one of the most frequent dermatological infections in this population. We carried out a 2-month cross-sectional descriptive study on diabetic subjects at the "Hassani Abdelkader" University Hospital, completing a questionnaire (sex, age, residence, type of diabetes, length of diabetes, suspected lesions, location), followed by superficial skin and nail sampling, combined with fasting blood glucose and HbA1c measurement, and mycological examination (direct examination and culture). The results of the study also showed that the elderly are the most likely to have this disease. The mean age of patients was 64.86 years, with male predominance. 5.85% of colonized patients were of normal weight, and 81.8% had onyxis. There was a significant relationship between the prevalence of fungal contamination and the length of diabetes, with a high prevalence of 63.6% after 20 years of diabetes. The fungi isolated were: Candida non-albicans (63.6%), Trichophyton rubrum (18.2%), Aspergillus terreus (9.1%), and Aspergillus flavus (9.1%).
