Mystery solver and thoroughly nice chap Atticus Drake is off on another trip. Having been the subject of an unexpected adventure in Venice, and following a long dark and grey English winter, he could be forgiven for jumping at the chance to spend some time on a yacht in the Canary Islands, courtesy of his old friend, Salty Clarke. He packed a hat and an appropriate book and set off for the sun, the sea, and some R and R. But if he was hoping for a peaceful time, he was about to be more than surprised. Autorenporträt
Tora Barry was born about half a century ago in a building which was once a hospital but which is now one of London's most exclusive hotels. Over the years, she's been a journalist, a timeshare salesperson, full-time yacht crew, a PR for a mens' underwear company, a brand strategist and a director of several modest companies. However, despite all this excitement, she has always found time to write, and is now concentrating on finishing projects and releasing them into the wild. Tora loves art galleries and is usually thinking about taking up painting. She also does her share of sampling lovely wine, and travelling, preferably to places with sunshine and people who bring you things while you sit in chairs reading and looking at lovely views. Tora is a reasonably good and enthusiastic cook, and can be relied upon to provide homemade cake and biscuits to visitors, builders, cleaners, estate agents and anyone else who may be passing. She is also currently the theatre correspondent covering the repertoire of the Theatre Royal, Bath, for the website guide2bath.com, and has just embarked on a doctoral thesis at Bath Spa University, where she will be researching the progress of the English literary hero in the second half of the twentieth century.
