This textbook presents an introduction to reinforced concrete design. We hope that, the material is written in such a manner as to interest students in the subject and to encourage them to continue its study in the years to come. The material presented in this book is based on the Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete (ACI 318M-14) and Commentary (ACI 318RM-14). The book is aimed at two different groups. First, by treating the material in a logical and unified form, it is hoped that it can serve as a useful text for undergraduate student courses on reinforced concrete. Secondly, as a result of the continuing activity in the design and construction of the reinforced concrete structures, it will be of value to practicing structural engineers. Numerous illustrative examples are given, the solution of which has been supplies so as to supplement the theoretical back ground and to familiarize the reader with steps involved in actual design problems.
