My name is Aleta Talbert. I am a currently a single mother of 4 adult boys and 1 daughter. It was my dream to be a nurse. But life dealt me a blow with being molested as a child. I graduated High school. Married 3 days later, at 18 and divorced at 25. My life spiraled down. We all go through some kind of changes. It's how we learn. I wrote these poems about my life's experiences. I call them Poetic Testimonials. My poems are to encourage, those who are going through addiction, or abuse, never to give up, there is Hope. I was addicted to crack cocaine over 25 years, being a female. It was very degrading, and my children suffered as well.
