Marla Harr is the owner and chief con-sultant for Business Etiquette International, a company whose goal is to help others master the soft skills and techniques of business etiquette and protocol intelligence so they can achieve a competitive edge through the art of diplomacy. Certified and trained through the Protocol School of Washington(R) and backed by more than three decades of corporate management and educational development experience, she brings to her work a mixture of both entrepreneurial spirit and corporate professionalism. After working in the corporate arena for many years, Marla started her own meeting and event company, experiencing first-hand the challenges of career transition and learning a new industry's culture and language. It was her mastery of these challenges and her love for helping others to excel professionally that led her to opening Business Etiquette International in 2007. Her work with the fire service includes presenting at the International Association of Fire Fighters conferences in 2011, 2013, and 2016 speaking at the adjunct program ALTS, and for the State of Ohio in 2014. Her workshops deal with transitioning from the firehouse to a leadership role and working with outside groups such as city councils, mayors, and fundraisers. Marla is an adjunct faculty member at Arizona State University and California State Univer¬sity. She is also an active candidate member of National Speakers Association - Arizona chapter.
