The aim of this book is to examine the implementation of the obligations and responsibilities of Information and Communication Technology (hereinafter- ICT) industry, based on internationally recognized principles and guidelines through the lens of corporate social responsibly (hereinafter-CSR). It does so, by exploring on the dual nature issues of ICT, the due diligence steps that ICT should employ in the entire ICT value chain, and the proper remedies for the victim. The issue of human rights and business has been a hot debate in past 12 years more than ever. As the ICT sector is increasingly becoming important in our life, this work attempts to analyze current laws and principles governing ICT industry. It will show that lack of clear laws governing freedom of speech and privacy has been a driving force to introduce CSR concept for regulating ICT companies' activities.
