Hugo Leichtentritt (1874 - 1951) war ein bedeutender deutscher Musikwissenschaftler und Musikkritiker. Geboren in Frankfurt am Main, studierte er an der Universität Leipzig und wurde später Professor an der Harvard University. Leichtentritt war bekannt für seine Arbeiten zur Musikgeschichte und -theorie, insbesondere für seine Forschung über Johann Sebastian Bach und die Musik des 18. Jahrhunderts. Er verfasste mehrere einflussreiche Bücher und Artikel, die das Verständnis der musikalischen Ästhetik und Analyse vertieften. Seine Beiträge prägten die akademische Diskussion und trugen zur Entwicklung der Musikwissenschaft bei. Hugo Leichtentritt hinterließ ein bedeutendes Erbe in der Musikforschung.
