Regulating and directing sport is the responsibility of public entities which, through the development of their functions, must guarantee the access, promotion and participation of the community in activities that improve aspects of daily life. From the field of sport administration, the aim is to contribute to the improvement of a sector that is underestimated by leaders and to support the development of regulations that are adjusted to the changing context of the country's regions.The present project will share the experience and results obtained in the development of an ambitious project, carried out together with: the IMDERS of the municipality of Sibaté in Colombia and with the help of some teachers from the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas in Bogotá. In the tour of the project is illustrated in a simple way some of the necessary aspects in the formulation of local public policies, giving importance to sport, recreation, physical activity and the use of free time as mechanisms and means of social management in the attempt to find solutions to problems in the sector and enhance representative qualities of its inhabitants.
