In addition to climate change issues those are the watchwords of contemporary debates, the agricultural intensification by using chemicals inputs in the production cycle are also highlighting. Furthermore, development policies implemented to increase production of cash crops such as cotton and cashew are not really suitable. It is important to note that all of these factors threaten the food security of the population. This book, through a number of developed topics, clarifies these issues and suggests some solutions approaches.

Yann Miassi is a graduate of the Department of Rural Economics and Sociology of the Faculty of Agronomy of the University of Parakou in Benin. He is currently studying at the Department of Agricultural Economics of the University of Çukurova in Turkey. He carries out research particularly in Economics and Rural Development.
