Mrs. Dion McNeal-Lucas is an alumnus and athletic hall of fame thrower in track and field from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). She earned bachelor's degrees in mathematics and secondary education and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from UMKC. When Mrs. Lucas began her teaching career in 2004, she began implementing the wellness tips found in this book and attributes many of her accomplishments and awards to following them. Mrs. Lucas is also a professional drummer and percussionist who enjoys incorporating music into her lesson plans. She even helped write the new alma mater for Liberty Academy in Liberty, Missouri in 2014. Teacher of the Year at Grissom High School in Huntsville, AL in 2018, she also co-authored another wellness book titled "FLUSH IT and GO WITH THE FLOW" to help shed light-in a humorous way-on the struggles people face and to help them to healthfully manage their emotions.
